Our Story

From a first year idea to a two time successful event.

Two competitions in, here's how far RDS has come, and where it's headed next.

RDS 1.0Year One

Where it all started

RDS started with a simple goal: bring the first national Garba-Raas competition to Connecticut. It was a bet that the Northeast could support something like this, and it paid off. That first year proved there was real demand for competitive Garba-Raas in the region.

RDS 2.0Year Two

Raising the bar

With that demand confirmed, the focus shifted to growth. RDS 2.0 was about building a bigger and better competition, bringing in more audience and more community involvement. Teams and fans coming back was the proof that mattered, it showed RDS wasn't a one-time event but something people wanted to be part of again.

RDS 3.0What's Next

Building something bigger

Now in its third year, RDS 3.0 is about building a stronger community around the event, one that's excited to celebrate it year after year. That means a bigger competition and a bigger stage, and a community that keeps showing up for it.
